Road Resurfacing

Thanks in part to a grant from the Indiana Department of Transportation's (INDOT) Community Crossings Matching Grant Fund Program, the Town of Brownsburg has been awarded nearly $5 million for road resurfacing since 2022.

This extensive project has allowed for the resurfacing of over 20 miles of road in our community, significantly improving the quality of our transportation infrastructure. The enhanced road conditions contribute to safer driving experiences and also help reduce vehicle wear and tear, ultimately saving residents money on maintenance costs.

The Town of Brownsburg conducts a Pavement Surface Evaluation and Rating (PASER) study bi-annually to evaluate the pavement condition of the local roads. Road sections are visually inspected for defects and rated on a scale of 1 to 10. A rating of 1 indicates a road in failed condition, and a rating of 10 indicates an excellent road. Roads below 5 are often the first to be considered for road resurfacing in the following year.

The collaboration with INDOT has proven vital in making these improvements possible. The Town plans to continue utilizing the Community Crossings Matching Grant program for future years to ensure roads continue to be safe and passable in all weather conditions.
