Brownsburg has a rich motorsports heritage. With the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park located in Brownsburg, nearby Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and many race teams headquartered in Brownsburg, it is known as the "Drag Racing Capital of the World."
To honor this heritage, the Town of Brownsburg partnered with the Indiana Racing Memorial Association in 2023 to create the Brownsburg Racing Memorial Trail. This trail honors significant figures in Indiana's racing history, each commemorated with a marker.
