Administered by the department Training Coordinator, the Training Unit consists of a cadre of certified instructors dedicated to providing the best training available for police service professionals. The Training Unit also provides personnel with numerous opportunities to seek training outside the department conducted by various law enforcement schools or agencies throughout the State of Indiana and nationwide.

The staff of the Training Unit provides instruction in all disciplines of police service, including:

Training Facility
The Brownsburg Police Training Facility hosts training conducted for Brownsburg and neighboring agencies. The state-of-the-art facility includes an indoor range, firearms simulator, full-scale simulated munitions training house, and fully equipped classrooms. The facility, or portions of it, is available for lease to law enforcement agencies for nominal fees. The BPD Training Facility is located at 75 Whittington Drive, Brownsburg.
