Safe Sitter

Safe Sitter is a medically accurate, hands-on, class that teaches boys and girls ages 11 to 13 how to handle emergencies when caring for children.

Safe Sitters learn:

  • What to do if a child is choking

  • Safety for the sitter

  • How to call for emergency help

  • Babysitting business skills

  • Basic child care skills; diapering, feeding, etc.

  • How to entertain children and keep them safe

  • Preventing behavior problems

  • Injury prevention techniques

Space is limited for the one-day class.  Students must be 11 to 13 years old by date of the class.  The cost is $45 per student. Students receive a Safe Sitter manual and certification card upon completion of the class.

All classes are one-day classes from 9:00am to 3:30pm with a parent meeting at 3:30pm lasting approximately 15 min.  Students must bring a sack lunch and drink.  Classes are held at the Headquarters & Training Facility at 470 E. Northfield Drive in Brownsburg.

Print and complete the registration form and mail it in with payment to reserve a seat.  Reservations will be confirmed once payment is received.  Checks should be made payable to Brownsburg Fire Territory and mailed to Brownsburg Fire Territory , 470 E. Northfield Drive , Brownsburg , IN 46112 .
